Xero is worth evaluating with the person who will reconcile the books and prepare the reports, not just the person who sends invoices. Try an import, a supplier bill and a month-end reconciliation using the business’s real structure. Growing avoids Early’s small document caps; Established is more relevant for multicurrency, expenses and project work. Confirm the bank feeds and apps needed, then compare the complete accounting and payroll setup.

Strengths

  • Core cloud accounting coverage
  • Bank feeds and reconciliation
  • App ecosystem and mobile access
  • Multicurrency and project options

Tradeoffs

  • Early has low document caps
  • Some connected services charge separately
  • Upcoming US price change affects budgeting
  • Data migration and reconciliation need planning

Who it suits

  • Small businesses managing cloud bookkeeping
  • Teams using connected commerce apps
  • Businesses with multicurrency or project needs

About Xero

Xero is cloud accounting software for invoicing, bills, bank reconciliation and financial reporting. It connects with payment services and business apps, with mobile access for common tasks. Businesses can use it to organize records and collaborate around the same financial data. This page compares the US Early, Growing and Established plans. Early limits invoice and bill volume, Growing expands everyday workflows, and Established adds multicurrency, project and expense capabilities. Payroll, enhanced inventory and some payment services are separate, so the right package depends on both accounting needs and the connected tools already in use.
